
Charles Doody was appointed Canton’s Town Administrator in October 2022. Prior to that he served as the town’s Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director for 14 years. He served as the staging area commander for the evacuation of Norwood Hospital during the 2020 flood. Charles is the former President of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs, the Norfolk County Fire Chiefs Association and a committee chair for the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English, a Master’s degree in Education, a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, and is a 2014 graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program. Doody is a lifelong resident of Canton, and is married to his wife Lisa of 32 years, and has three children.
